Psalm 119: Intro-John Vernon McGee
Psalm 119 is broken down into 22 sections of eight verses. Each verse in the individual sections begins with the same letter of the Hebrew alphabet. McGee says eight in Scripture indicates life after death. The Psalm honors the Word of God. McGee doesn't believe that Israel being in the land is not the fulfillment of prophecy (I disagree.) He says this because they have not turned to God, which is true, but I don't believe this has to happen to fulfill the prophecy. The word just says the people, who were not in the land for thousands of years, would return to the land. They did, on May 14, 1948. John Ruskin said, "It's strange, that of all the pieces of the Bible my mother taught me, that which was most repulsive, the 119th Psalm, (is now most revered.)" McGee says if you can't sleep at night, read Psalm 119.
